Japanese Drummers coming back to Budapest

Yamato, the Japanese drummers are coming back to Budapest this month. They will be at the Congress centre 15 - 19 February as part of their "Gamushara” – The Beat of Courage tour.

Taiko is a traditional Japanese art form of ensemble drumming. Originally a form of communication within and between villages. modern taiko has become a dramatic performance. Yamato’s world travels began in 1998 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where they made their international debut and won the festival’s Spirit of Fringe award. They have since given over 2,300 performances in 41 countries throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas.

See this clip from their last visit here in April 2010
